The Tibetan Lion's Roar! includes 'genes' picked up in its evolution, from Indian, Tibetan, Mongolian and Chinese Wrestling systems.  These are now encoded according to the two Totem animal divisions of the Art.  The 'Crane Forms' tend to be more 'refined' and sophisticated whilst the 'Ape Forms' more obviously aggressive and direct.  Some of the techniques shown are similar to those found in the Chinese Wrestling Sport of Shuai-Chiao 摔角 Shuai-Chiao in its sport form, is an upright, jacketed wrestling system, that does not include sophisticated strikes, pressure-points, or any ground fighting techniques and applications.  The grappling in Lion's Roar! has maintained all of these methods, is NOT a sport, and uses highly refined rotational linkages to generate power.  Shuai Chiao in its traditional San-Sau 散手 form is an excellent martial grappling system.  In Lion's Roar! the grappling in Mandarin Chinese is

"Xi-Zhang San-Shou Shuai-Chiao"

Sequence 1: Elbow Lock From Being Grabbed With Pressure Point Variant Takedown 1

1: Here figure White has taken down figure Black, but Figure Black has managed to get a neck grab on.  Figure White turns his neck to one side, trapping the hand, and applied opposite forces thru Figure Black's elbow joint

2: Demonstrating the trap technique....

3: After the grab is applied, turn your head and if possible your waist, so as to make an initial trap and put torque into the opponents elbow.  Press with your palm against the elbow to increase the pressure

4: Here, a Pressure Point Hit with a single knuckle fist is applied to augment the lock

5:  This then switches to a raking press with the fore-knuckles against the acomion process of the shoulder, which is very painful.........

6: And compelling.......

7: To the ground.......

8: And a wrist lock

1: Here the same initial technique is applied.....

5: But finishing with an accelerated phoenix-eye single knuckle strike to the carotid, from prior contact with the acromion joint - following the contour of the shoulder - to - neck plane
